To help organize opportunities for economic development and social support for women, the village is working with women’s leadership resources in the area. The women have already started selling hand-embroidered items and harvesting honey with the Bee Hive Project.

The women also have been learning the art of basket-making, using local materials to create baskets to sell in the local markets. The Women’s Initiative has identified this project as a practical and significant channel for future engagement and production in the greater Bethlehem community.
